Bipolar Love

Fall (Mania/Summer)

I knew you were the one, I’ve picked you

My heart flutters, vision blurs, pupils dilate

The excitement of your presence engulfs and overpowers me

Senses aroused, the tension palatable

The thought of you is all I need to survive, is crucial

Suspended beauty, color, euphoria

I need not sleep or eat for you are my sustenance

You’re all I crave

Love addiction amplified by maniacal delusions

Devotion (Hypomania/Fall)

You’ve become my world, my everything

All else around me mundane and unimportant

I need you, I want you, forever

I love you

I’ve lost myself in you, in us

Lost in love unwavering

Eternal sunshine fills my heart

Every moment spent with you, our lives entangled

One soul, one breath, one heart

Powerful, devout, unendurable, suffocating

Tears (Depression/Winter)

The silence is deafening

Your hand no longer touches mine

I weep with every empty word spoken

Deepening despondency grows with every breath taken

I scream

Why don’t you love me?

Why don’t you love me enough to fight for us, for me?

I need you to be whole

Who am I if I’m not yours?

I implore, don’t leave me, please, don’t go

Desperation bleeds into every facet of life

Tragically discarded, I’m broken

I sleep

Numb (Normalcy/Spring)

Removed from reality, I feel nothing

The passion of our love eludes me

A cocktail of chemicals dampens my mind

Albeit brief, this sensation appears infinite

Frightened by the absence of emotion, I flee

-Condemned for all eternity to succumb to the changing of the seasons-
